Often your emotions are so stirred up that it can be very difficult to come up with words of condolence for those that need them. Sometimes, the only way to truly tell them how you feel about them is by giving them a poem that says how important they are to you, and how your life will not be the same without them.
When you are assigned an analytical essay about a poem in an English class, the goal of the assignment is usually to argue a specific thesis about the poem, using your analysis of specific elements in the poem and how those elements relate to each other to support your thesis.
